Efficiency

You know I wake up early most days now with a clear head. I always know where my car keys are and I get to work early. I clearly remember yesterday's business so no retracing my steps starting the work day. I remember the errands I need to accomplish after work and complete them rather then drinking. The evenings aren't spent erasing my memory so I will wake up tomorrow even further ahead. It all builds on itself and I feel like a productive person again. I have a long way to go but the path is clear. I'm not going back. Just my thoughts this evening. The best to you all

Thanks for this. It was nice to read. I went to work today and crushed it. I got more done this morning then three days of hungover work. Felt good.

Productivity (in many areas, not just work), efficiency and motivation are some features of sober life that I enjoy the best. They were also some features of myself that got affected the most by drinking and that I was most frustrated about. So good it's all some far past now.
Good stuff

I used to think drinking enhanced my life - made it more fun & manageable. In the end, it did just the opposite. I was confused, anxious, and filled with dread. I'm so glad we know better now, Matt.

What I wonder is how far it goes. Each day a tiny bit better then the one before. I'll enjoy the ride for sure

I'm with you Matt. Sounds like you're doing so good. My life is a complete disaster. A total wreck in 18 different ways. But I'm sober. And I'm done with alcohol forever. Hoping that life gets a sliver better each day.

I know things will get better for you clas. It takes time and dedication but I believe with all my heart that sobriety is the key to solving most things in our life. One day at a time my friend😀

YES!!!
Whenever I was about to embark on some activity, I always thought to myself: "Self, wouldn't this be better with a few belts to take the edge off and make you more relaxed, so you can really enjoy it?"

It never was better, a few belts always turned into a whole bunch of belts, and well, you all can imagine the rest.

Agreed. Even if I'm tired, it feels so good to be clear and sharp. Getting things done instead of pouring a drink when I walk in the door after work. Thanks for the post.

So far, Matt, it just keeps going for me. I'm 322 days sober today. Not every day is perfect or even super, for sure, but every single one is better than any I had when drinking. Everything is better sober, from the minutiae to the big decision stuff, etc etc.

Keep going.
