50 days sober
 

Today is 50 days since I had my last drink to be honest I never thought it possible as I just could not stop no matter how bad it got.

But eventually the pain got so bad and Iam not talking physical pain Iam talking complete mental anguish, anxiety to the point of being bed ridden unable to even swallow food along with suicidal depression to round it all off.

I decided it was 1 of 2 options I continue on and die or I live. Thank god I chose to live because I have made amazing progress in only 50 days. I have even got through a very very messy break up that would have completely sent me over the edge before without a single drop of poison.

With the help of AA and my sponsor Iam determined to never touch another drop as long as I walk gods green earth.

So to anyone out there struggling in day one or week one for the 1000th time please don't loose hope because if i can stop so can you!!!

I am at 75 days myself - you sound like you were in way worse shape then I was 75 days ago.

You have proven that alcoholism is a true disease.
