hello, I am new, and I have a question. Am I in the right place, because I do not drink, nor have I ever, but I need advice on being with someone that gambles, drinks, consumes drugs, spends money profusely, then is broke, etc.
Before, you reply, I want to know if it is possible to open someone else's eyes to the destruction that they are doing, or do I eventually have to move on?
Thanks, Zeeseh

lost and not sure if i am in the right place
Hi, please let me know if I am in the right place, I have written a few post its, and i am not sure if they were posted or not. I am new at this, and would like to speak with anyone who has insight in the situation of being with a substance abuser, alcoholic, gambler, etc, and can tell me if there is a way for him to see the destruction that he is causing all around, or do i just have to move on, even though i care for him?
Thanks, Zeeseh

Welcome (((Zeeseh)))
May I direct you to the Naranon, Alanon or Friends and Family of Alcoholics forum. There are alot of good people with experience and advice that could help answer any questions you may have. Our loved ones have to help themselves. We can't do it for them. You can however help yourself by better understanding them through Alanon ect. Good luck and I hope you find the answer to your questions.
