Would like to say I'm relaxing and reading a good book by the fire but we're going car shopping to replace the one my DD totaled last month...

I'll be stressed but I'll be sober!!!

Thanks for the start Saou!

Congrats on shotgun SAH! Delilah, vice shotgun rocks, I had the opportunity last week with Gilmer

MB, do what you feel is right for you. You're correct, we all have the tendency to overthink. Even still, who doesn't appreciate a kind gesture regardless of the reason? I can see nothing bad about the offering. Don't feel like it's required though.

Good to see everyone in here. It's a fresh, New Year with great things to come

Ken, go back to bed :p

I'm in! Thanks for the intro, Sao.
It's super cold here, and I just want to hibernate. I'm still lying in bed, but I need to get up and face the day. Dreading going outside.

It's finally going to be cold in Florida this weekend. 40 degrees on Sunday morning, woo hoo! Going hiking on Sunday to enjoy "winter" while it lasts all of 24 hours.

Happy weekend.

We will be lucky to get above zero today here. We expect it here, but it doesn't make it any easier to deal with it.

Welcome to Weekenders Munchkin and have fun car hunting, there are always good deals for those who do their homework.

Good to see you LadyBlue! Your first weekend without that unpleasant court thingy hanging over you so be sure to enjoy it.

I have to attend a talk where some new rules regarding equipment for underground rail workers are discussed. I go every year, it is really tedious but at least I get to talk with some of our competitors, you never know someone might offer me a job

I think the thank you treat for your kind neighbors is a great idea, MB. A nice, small thing would not be overkill at all. Although a simple "thank you" would suffice, a little gift would present you as a really good neighbor.

do it sooner rather than later, while the incident's fresh in their minds--if you don't do it in the next couple of weeks, you may as well not remind them of it.

Oh, and by the way--I'm in!

Gotta say I'm nervous, this is my first sober weekend in months. Weekends are always triggers in the beginning, I know what you mean about weekends having a vibe about them which make them stand out from the rest of the week but I hope to pretend its a normal day lol. The real bonus is going to be able to have a real lie in on Sat and Sunday. Hungover lie ins suck.

Hi! I'm in for a Sober weekend.

Hello saoutchik! I remember you from a class last year. Unfortunately I am still not sober but really making an effort with Dry January. Got a few days progress and hoping for many more.

Greetings to all who have joined!

Hello. Please count me in. Would love to join you all for the ride through the weekend. Recently joined SR and hopped on the January Class thread, as well.

Cold here in the Southern US. Chance of snow today. Coffee very good at the moment. Good day to all.

Welcome, Circle and JackDSMissus. This is a fun place to hang out and get some insight into how to "do" sober weekends!

I'm planning on staying in most of the weekend, maybe getting some organizing done. Maybe cook up something that takes all day. Keeping it simple - I'll also hit a couple of meetings. Winter doldrums are setting in, so I'll have to try to get out and about at least a little.

I'm in!! The weekends are always the hardest. I intend to stay busy and check into all my classes. And when the thoughts of drinking come into my mind i'm not going to entertain them. Gonna let them pass by like the clouds in the sky. (Hopefully on a windy day) =D

I'm in and thank you Sao for starting this thread out with a bang.

Munchkin, good luck car shopping. Not my favorite thing although new cars are nice.

I stayed glued to the weekend thread when I first got sober. It was lovely to see how everyone spent their time and talked about normal things. The more relaxed vibe on the thread helped me make more SR friends. It's well worth sticking around.

On Saturday the bed my daughter wants will be delivered from IKEA so I will be spending my day assembling the bed. Or I will never get rest myself. Persistent little person, my daughter.

Ruby - building Ikea stuff is always fun. Lasts one I did had to undo half a wardrobe because I set it up the wrong way around. I also still haven't worked out if there are always screws left in the end because they send more than you need or because I missed something. Nothing has ever colapsed so I'm guessing the first.

Welcome to all the newcomers!

Cold here this morning compared to yesterday, warm compared to the midwest.

MB, I think a small gift would be a nice gesture. Maybe some cookies, cupcakes or chocolates.

Have a great day everyone.

Thanks for the intro Sao

Hello all! Count me in for another sober weekend.I'm going out for a posh curry tomorrow and I cannot wait. Although i'm currently extremely hungry.... so that's making it look extra appealing right now.
