Hey hey

I don't like the way that I drink and I'm going to do a 90 day cleanse. I am getting more and more turned off partying and drinking the older I get.... I drink for the wrong reasons and say and do stupid things. It's affecting my health and my peace of mind so I want to take a break for awhile and then reassess. This was my first sober New Years in like 20 years or more lol.

Happy New Year to you all.

Welcome Hazel! Glad you are here!

I too found my drinking harder the longer it went on. I couldn't control what I said or did very well, and my health was ... well... critically impaired. I missed the peace of mind the most.

While you are doing your 90 day abstenance, you might want to consider coming here each day to explore the posts. This might help you determine for yourself if you have a problem with drinking. that will require that you never drink again.

I hope that you will not feel you have to drink again to figure this out, but if you do, well ... I did it over and over and always ended up in the same place as the time before or worse. But SR and other recovery programs always were happy to see me come back to sobriety (or at least most of the people in recovery lol).

Best of luck and keep us posted!

I will do the same hazelplaes. I will try to do 90 days. How long have you been drinking for and how old are you? Sorry for asking these questions. I am new to this and wanted to know similarities. I am 41 and have been drinking on and off for 20 + years. I binge drink and also have enough of it.

welcome to SR hazelplaces

When I came here I couldn't imagine being sober,...by the time 90 days came by I couldn't imagine not being sober. Really hope it works out that way for you too
