The Only Sober Person at a NYE Dinner Party.,,

And I am wondering if I acted this stupid when I drank. Good to report that despite being surrounded by booze I have not had a drop. Fortunately one of my close friends is pregnant and we sat next to each other in solidarity.

But again, I am so glad not to be acting like an idiot.

Congrats Horn.
I'm also sober 44 minutes before the New Year. We are playing "Cards Against Humanity" which is certainly derelict and profane but lots of fun.
I've always been the drinker so fortunately I'm surrounded by sober or soberish folks tonight. It's nice to be one of them this year!
Happy New Years!
Jonathan

The party I went to was a mix of kids and adults. I was one of two adults who didn't have any alcohol at all.

There are several people, my husband included who are going to wake up feeling like crap in the morning. One of my brother in laws threw up, and passed out before midnight. My twelve year old asked me why he was sleeping and I was honest with her, I told her he drank too much. She actually commented that she could tell her dad drank too much as well because his voice started to change. I am very glad my kids did not see me like this, and I hate the thought that they have in the past.

So very grateful for my sobriety.

I probably acted stupider... I drank much more than other people.

Happy New Year!

Congrats on staying sober Horn! We likely all have much worse stories we could tell, if we only could remember them!

More of the same at brunch. Met some of the folks we had dinner with last night. But I have to admit, I had some pretty intense cravings this morning. A few glasses of champagne was looking pretty good. Man, this is tough. On day 7 though. Longest stretch I've been on in at least a couple of years.

Don't look at it as the "longest stretch." This is now your life. (Congrats on the week, though )

I kept saying, "I don't drink. No matter what."

Closes every possible loophole.
