Starting Detox Tomorrow and I am VERY Anxious

Checking in at 9 am tomorrow. Not much to drink so far today. I am really worried about withdrawal. With as heavy a drinker as I have been, I think I need prepare for a "bumpy ride." But, this drunk life has got to End. But of all the challenges I have had in my life, this is the one that appears most daunting.

If I get some computer access, I'll try and let y'all know how it's going. in advance. Time for me to buckle up!

They are going to give you drugs to mitigate the withdrawal. You're going to be okay, really. It's not going to be as bad as your poor damaged brain is trying to make you believe it is going to be.

I'm really happy for you. Try to drink just enough today, don't go for the buzz. I know you've been cutting back and that is going to work in your favor.

You'll be okay!

Nervous, and I'm guessing you're kind of excited too, right? You are on your way towards better health, and that's a very good thing! Congrats to you!

Best of luck, you will get through this and it will be so much better, ass Mattq said, when it's over and done with.

All the best for tomorrow Horn. As has been mentioned, I am pretty certain you will be given drugs to mitigate the withdrawal effects. See you on the other side

Withdrawal is the easy part, staying sober is where the work comes in. Be sure to have a solid game plan for your sobriety once everything passes over.

You can do this! I spent 8 days in medical detox for drugs and alcohol during rehab and they make sure you are safe and mitigate withdrawal symptoms well. Good luck!

I'm very excited for you to start your new sober life, Horn! If we don't hear from you while you're there, we'll catch you on the flip side.

If you are in a detox facility, they will medically manage your withdrawal.

The "thinking" part will be a bit harder, but they will help you with that also.

Good Luck!

If you have to detox I can't think of many better places to be than a medical detox Horn.

You'll be OK

H- I pray you find peace with your detox. Please do not think about the 'one for the road- live it up 1 last time' road. Bad place to go.
