Welp, I'm not going to complain about relapsing after 30-something days. Spending 2 days in bed trembling and vomiting blood-laced bile into a waste basket just seems like a normal part of my life now. Gone are any kind of romantic ideas I had about being an alcoholic.

On the positive side, I applied to college for biotech tech, microbio tech, med tech, and med sciences tech, so hopefully one of those programs works out. I think it's all the same in the end, just lab tech experience. I have lab experience, but in university it's kind of useless. I honestly want to go back to school so badly. If I get into school, I'll be 32 by the time the program is over lol. All I wanted when I started studying the sciences was to work in a laboratory and fiddle around with centrifuges and test tubes and stuff. Miss it.

I'm finally moving out of the suburbs back to my lakefront apartment in Toronto. That place feels like home. All my stuff is still there.

That bloody bile sounds serious.
Do you think you need to see a Dr Vulturine?

Hi Dee. Yeah, whatever it is never heals. I should get an endoscopy or something.

Going back to school sounds like a great step, vulturine.

Yeah V. Get that checked out. School is a good option. I started years ago and it helps to stay focus and know your making power moves. Best of luck to you and stay on top of sobriety. Going back is a very slippery slope.

Hi Vulturine I can only share what I experienced

When I was vomiting blood it came after the bile (I was stupidly vomiting blood regularly before I done anything)

Was in the hospital a good few times because of it basically the drs were saying because of gastritis (which is what it sounds like, the constant vomiting to the point of blood) is caused because the bile is literally burning a hole in your esophagus I had a endoscopy to confirm this among other times in the ER

See a Dr straight away & no matter what no more drinking x

Vulturine I will second (third, whatever) that you see your doctor. As far as school, I just got my BA a few years ago at 52yo lol (I didn't start until I was 45). It's never too late!

I'll go ahead and suggest a title;

"Today, I am choosing to embrace a sober life and live it to the fullest, in gratitude and joy".

Do you think moving back and being on your own is the right move at this time? Remember, we live and die by our decisions.

Most young drinkers have not experienced that.
I have had friends that died while vomiting blood.
Take these signs as a very serious warning.

and are you okay with this now normal part of your life, vulturine?
i'm genuinely asking: is it good enough?

i found all kinds of things acceptable as normal part of my life, shrug, when i was getting drunk.
