Guys all noted and thanks .
Im struggling , I'm still drinking and hate it . Theres no buzz no happy feeling just drinking to get " out of it " . I start a new job on 22nd . I need to get a grip .

I dont class myself "newcomer " .Ive had good spells of sobriety 2 years being best .
I WILL put this down , i.m on day 3 of vodka ,got my pile of vitamins and health drinks lined up . relentless and diabolical when you pick that first drink up .

If you quit today, you'll have a week to get through the worst of withdrawals and get some rest for your new job.

New jobs are awkward enough without having to deal with it hungover.

keep coming back Thomas59, you'll beat this thing. I think your family situation weighs on you a bit. It will work itself out, but it would likely be better if you were sober for it.

Put it down now Thomas - the longer you dally with this nonsense the harder it's going to be to stop, man.

Put it down now, do the hard yards for a little while and then be recovering in time for Xmas and the new year.

Sounds like a plan?

Thomas, your OP brought back vivid memories of hell on earth for me. There is a way out of that hell, and you never have to go back. I hope you have stopped and that you are starting to feel better. Please post and let us know how you are. Xx
