Hi again.

Hi. Well I'm back. I used the site when I went 3 month sober earlier in the year. Started drinking again about 6 months ago. The thing is in those 6 months I have drunk sensibly, within recommended guidelines. I have felt better but not how I expected to feel. I drank heavily for 25 years, 100+ UK units a week so maybe my brain is not capable of dealing with even this much. Has anyone else had this experience when trying and succeeding in moderating.

Yeah I have had the experience of even a small amount of alcohol affecting me negatively.

I'm one of those people who can't drink any amount of alcohol if they want to live the life they want, and be who they want to be.

I tried to drink moderately but was never able to stay within the recommended limits. To me, the recommended limits were a waste of time.

The only way I actually healed the damage done was to be completely abstinent. I can moderate. I didn't want to all the time. Those not-all-the-times were becoming much too frequent.

It's so much better on the completely sober side.
