50 mgs Naltrexone side effects.

Hello all,
I started taking Naltrexone in treatment for Opiate addiction, and I have started to notice some pretty considerable hair thinning/loss. I have always had very thick hair, so I noticed it right away, and it is really driving me crazy. I have been on the Naltrexone for about 2 1/2 months, I am 23 years old, about 150lbs. Has anyone else experienced this?

Welcome to SR!

I would consult your doctor or counselor in regards to your concerns.

I have been on and off 50mg naltrexone for alcohol and no side effects. Talk to your Dr who prescribed it for you Hun- everyone is different. Good luck

Hi young and sober! Congratulations on 2.5 months, that is fantastic. Hopefully someone will come in and share if they had a similar experience, but you can also ask your doctor who prescribed it if it is a possible side effect. There are some common side effects for every medication, then some rare ones. Not every one gets hit with the same side effects.
There is probably also some material that came with the prescription, you could check there too.
Hope it works out!

Hi and welcome Youngandsober

I have no experience to share but I think it's best for you to see your Dr to find out what's going on in your particular case?

[QUOTE=YoungandSOBER93;6235382]Hello all,
I started taking Naltrexone in treatment for Opiate addiction.

I'm on suboxone right now for opiate addiction, but I'm curious about naltrexone. Does is help with cravings? Does it help with pain at all?
