Posting for Accountability

Hello. I'm on day 11. The last few days, I've had periods of intense cravings. I've had a few tonight, and my brain is desperately trying to convince me that a day or two of drinking would be okay and the withdrawals wouldn't be that bad. But that's all lies.

I'm here posting to have some accountability to someone other than myself. Sobriety feels too good to ruin it with a temporary euphoria followed by feeling like I'm in Hades tomorrow morning.

So, instead, I'm going to busy myself around the house. I've been meaning to rearrange some pictures to change up the feel of things. Maybe I'll do that. Or perhaps I'll read an autobiography I recently picked up or "force" my kids to watch an old, classic movie with me. They always love it when I do that. ;-)

Whatever I do, it will be done sober.

Pax vobiscum!

All of the above sound like good ways to spend the night (minus the drinking of course).

At 11 days you are already through the physical withdrawals, and you definitely don't want to deal with those again. I stayed really busy the first few months, I didn't trust myself to have much downtime. It really does get easier.

You've got that right. I never, ever want to go through those horrible withdrawals again. No thank you!
