Arrow Thanksgiving Weekender 22-27 November2016

To The Weekender Thread for

22-27 November 2016

Hi and welcome to the Weekender Thread!

This is a place where anyone and everyone can come for support - especially over the weekend - but also right through the coming week as well.

All you have to do to join is post - we'd love to see you come aboard :

As an Aussie we don't celebrate Thanksgiving, but I still have a lot to be thankful for.

I'm alive, I'm independent, I have money in the bank, I live in a nice house and I can get around easy on my scooter. I also have a lot of more intangible things like love and friendship and the support of this great SR community. I'm eternally glad I reconnected with my faith as well.

Life still have it's trials but they seem like pebbles now when once they were boulders - and I'm grateful and thankful for that too.

As they say here in Oz, I wouldn't be dead for quids

All the good things in my life, all I've found or re-discovered come from my decision to stay in recovery.

I'm pretty much in Thoreau's camp on this one

Whatever you have to be thankful for this week, treasure it, savour it, love it, celebrate it.... and share it.

what are some of the things you guys are thankful for now?

Crying Out Now: Thanksgiving Survival Guide

anyone worrying how they might fare over Thanksgiving (or any festive season occasion) do read this link

We do not celebrate Thanksgiving but I'll join in!

Today I am grateful for not being fired. Although it's just lunch time so we will see.

Here is my wish for my American friends and Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

Well I'm usually online while eating breakfast and on my lunch. A bit of support gets me through the day

I'm in. I got shotgun two consecutive weeks once a long time ago--but now it seems my luck has changed no matter what weird hours I'm awake.

I am thankful for many things in my life: my needs met, extra blessings, love from family and friends, and a million other serendipitous joys. I'm grateful that the Lord gave me not just a second, but a third and fourth chance at life. Grateful, too, for the growth in character that was possible when I gave up drinking.

Speaking of giving up drinking, I'm really, really grateful for SR, too and the wonderful people on it. I love being here every day!

Thank you especially, Dee, for everything you give to us--time, wisdom, patience, music, humor--all for free! You're better than ten therapists! LOL!

(J/K--we know SR can't give medical advice)!

I'm in too

Thanks for all the good wishes last thread for my one year sober date--much appreciated

I spent the day competing in a cross-country race with "hills" bigger than mountains,
but I got around the course, albeit slowly.
Such is the metaphor of my life. . .

I'm thankful to still be in the race

By the way Tetra, you'll be running that office in a year or two. . . you heard it here first--

We don't celebrate Thanksgiving in the UK but I am thankful that I am reasonably sure I will be alive tomorrow. Couldn't have said that 2 years ago

Went to the grocery store today to get the rest of my Thanksgiving supper supplies. Normally I would've picked up wine. Instead, I bought La Croix, Arnold Palmer, Perrier, and cherry juice. I don't normally drink soda but I might on Thanksgiving.
