Thank You ...
Thank You ...
On Friday I posted a message about the fact I'd been sober for an entire 5 days(!) - May not seem a lot to some, but to me it was an amazing achievement.
Oh Friday, I experienced 'cravings' (after a whole 5 days, I was over the physical withdrawals, and thought that I could conquer this by myself).
On that Friday I posted on here (posting far too much!), and just listening to others who have been in this 'place' made me feel as though I was not alone. It has kept me sober.
I'm on day 8 now! I NEVER thought I'd get a week, let alone 8 days
I am so thank-full for this forum.

C6 - "may not seem a lot to some?" You under estimate yourself and the respect that draws from me. I did cold turkey by myself- long story, no option. God, I would rather have teeth pulled with out a needle than do that ever again. Congrats and keep sharing. PJ

Well done on day 8 Cassie. I am now on day 5 and feeling great so far. So many positives to outweigh the negatives. Its like getting those first spectacles, everything is so much sharper and in focus. Its so relaxing, not having to worry about the 'where/how/how much/how can I/when shall I' constant questions and dilemmas in my head, every day and night. I am sleeping so much better, looking so much better and feeling a whole load better. Good luck with your onward journey.
Even today, the cravings have shown their face
I've done so well and done so much (I'm doing my house up!)
I'm dreading my works' Christmas party' - I'm planning on driving someone else's car (I'm insured fully on it!) , but am worried the 'anxiety may get the better of me...'

Why not give the party a miss. Come down with a mystery tummy bug. Or say you have to be up super early for something and dont want a late night/hungover morning. Will other people notice your absence once the party gets going. You will feel fab the next day, refreshed and sober. There is always next years party ?
I'm with PJ! A lot of what has kept me on the wagon is because I don't wish to ever have to go through that first five days once again. And I hear it gets worse the more you repeat them. So great job getting through 5 days!
