Help me cope with the stress of moving

So I have one week to pack, clean and move house. So say I'm feeling overwhelmed would be putting it mildly. I'm doing it all on my own- everyone I could ask is too busy. I've started packing but I'm looking around at everything that needs doing and I can barely breathe.
Help!

It is very stressful but what helped me was making a daily list of what could reasonably be achieved that day...mark off every item and then every daily list, and you be ready to move next weekend

This is a pretty good list of general things to remember

Moving Home Checklist

my personal advice is be ruthless - travel light to your new home...anything you haven't used in a year or more - to the dump!

Trash bags and empty boxes can be filled. Just put aside things you will absolutely need the first 2 weeks. Then just fill bags.

Have you been to an AA meeting? Maybe people there can help you?

I recently moved and felt so overwhelmed I couldn't do anything, but remember the main point is to relocate, so just spend 5 minutes and fill up one bag or box. Breathe and work for 5 more minutes. It will ALL get done!!

Moving is stressful, no question. But you can do it. Agree with Dee. Get rid of as much as you can before the move. Donate or toss. Get a bunch of boxes. Go one room, one closet, one dresser at a time. Break it into chunks. Take breaks, drink water and remember to eat. Peace.

Yes.. It is overwhelming..
But you can do it!

Take each room, closet or area and attack!
Think of these 3 rules on moving...
Each item you have to decide
1 .. What you are taking (Box it or bag it)
2.. What you are donating -- Put in a pile somewhere by itself.
3.. What you are throwing away... Good time to clean!

Good luck! We are here for ya

I've moved often and I a firm believe in purging. It hurts a bit at the time, but it feels so much better after. And, so many things can be recycled. We have agencies that pick up clothing from drop boxes. During our last move we had an agency pick up furniture pieces we didn't need any longer, and they distribute them to families in need. It's a win-win situation.
