Halt
If you're thinking about giving up, ask yourself to HALT. Ask yourself is you are H=hungry A=angry L=lonely or T=tired. Sometimes being hungry, angry, lonely, or tired cause us to want to pick up so if you feel like giving up, just HALT and take care of yourself.

Right on Hope! Those tired old acronyms we learn in the rooms are as true today as they were when they were first written. HALT serves to remind me that I need to find a place of balance, in every 24 hours.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Yeah Hopealwayz that a great one..They always told me to count till ten but this one is so much beter..If you ask yourself such questions you're already ten counts further...Thanks very much..Hopealways you're anand you deserve a for shareing this oneLove from Stefanie
Here's how my inner addict responds to the HALT wisdom:
H--I'm always hungry. I don't want to get fat.
A--The only thing that would make me happy right now besides drinking is sex, but my girlfriend still hates me for drinking.
L--see "A"
T--I can't sleep without drinking...
And then I would proceed like a zombie to the liquor store. Well, I used to anyway. These days I tell my addictive voice to bugger off. Then I devour a pizza, kiss my girlfriend and appreciate her patience, call a friend or family member, and count sheep until I'm sound asleep. Then I wake up happy, proud that I got through another tough night without the sauce, and feelin' fine without that hangover.
