Another newbie Hello all, I am on day one again today. Made it through the end of the workday and about to commute home. This is the dangerous time, as I walk past two drinking holes that I have frequented for years. Also, the many bottle shops before I get to the bus station. Once I get home I will feel so glad I didn't stop, though. I feel pretty much garbage today and that should see me safely home. Have to work on a plan for when I feel better, as I always seem to "forget" the misery of drinking after two or a few days and then have to start over again. Reading the threads here has given me a lot of comfort in knowing that I am not all alone in this, and hope that I can make it stick. Thanks |
hi spartan and welcome i do lots of exercise as a tool to burn off those resentments (my #1 offender). Great job on choosing not to drink today! :You_Rock_ :tyou |
I totally know those feelings-good job, keep it up! |
Thanks January and Fortress. Exercise sounds like a great idea, I am extremely out of shape after years of excessive beer intake + bad food. Would be great if I could sweat out the many years of accumulated toxins. |
Welcome to SR, that 2-3 break that makes you feel normal again is a killer. It seems to always lead back to another drunken episode. If one can break that cycle, the benefits really become clear. |
Hi, Spartanman. You really can do this. You might want to start posting in the November 2016 thread, it's for newly sober people like yourself. It helps a lot to have people to share with who are going thru the same things you are. |
Thanks Snazzy, will do ! |
Nice job not drinking today. I am just on my 2nd day so I can relate to your post. |
