Nervous Breakdown...
Nervous Breakdown...
Hello.
And thank you to everyone who gave me advice on my last post!
My family have a history of mental breakdowns (my Doctor, as I mentioned previously, is no help, and keeps plying me with medication).
He is the second Doctor I've seen (at a different practice - sorry if that makes no sense - I'm in England).
I have asked for counselling , but have been refused as 'I seem well in myself' - I did have a counsellor but it was private, and due to NHS laws, once you have seen a 'private counsellor' you must pay 'private' - (£60 per hour - around $100 I think).
My Grandmother died from mental illness, and my Father (a powerful man over here - can no longer function).
I feel as though I'm going to go the same way.
I've tried AA which hasn't really worked, as my primary issue is Anorexia/ Bulimia... I use alcohol to stop me from my eating disorder...
Any advice on past experiences would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Cassie x

Hi Cassie
I'm sorry it's so hard for you to find help. I hope some of our UK members might be able to help better than I can?
If 12 step works for you, have you considered a 12 step group for your eating disorders?
