3 years today

....and I am so happy to be sober today...This past year has been the easiest and most comfortable in so far I don't think about drinking very much at all.
Initially getting sober was not easy but it is worth it.
When I first came here I had about one week of sobriety and I felt like it was a lifetime, it was that challenging.
SR and the people that come here and post have been a great support through the tough times and the times where I just needed to be around others like me. It is funny how many of the people that post here will never know how much they have helped me and many others like me.
AVRT and addressing my AV when it wants to railroad my life back into thinking I could just have a couple has been a wonderfully powerful tool to me.

...thank you everyone for your support. xxx

Congratulations!

Im 2 weeks sober and this forum has helped me a lot.
I was thinking yesterday how it feels like a lifetime! All the feelings that i numbed, all the hours that i either spent thinking of drinking or getting hammered are now free.
I feel like i feel too much! Like a day is sooo long.
I was reflecting last week and found myself thinkinf, im immature in some areas and feel like my social and emotional development has plateaud or slowed down since i started drinking ten years ago. I think its the fact of how much time was wasted on alcohol rather than you know actually living.

Keep on keeping on!

Thank you everyone, your congratulations mean the world to me and sharing this milestone with you.

Hut, congratulations on 2 weeks, that is exactly how I felt and there was many days I would go to bed really early just because I could not cope with myself another minute. SR is great and talking about how you are feeling helps.
