Day 57 Update and happy

Just a little update , and was hoping to hear your thoughts, on Day 57 days clean now, work getting better as the fog is lifting slowly, sleeping is getting better but sometimes wake up in middle of night. Have mild nausea and tremors in gut area, some tingling in legs and crazy thoughts but not like before. This is the longest ever sober for me and I will never drink again. I am very excited being sober but sometimes look back with sadness at the time lost due to alcohol. Also, I have difficulty getting up in morning as feel groggy until I get up and moving, especially after a bad sleep. I know I am early in my journey and very happy so far and Christmas, then St. Patricks Day (alcohol free) are my next immediate goals. Again a big Thank You to SR and would love to hear your stories especially on your decreasing symptoms, not progressive symptoms :) Thank you.

That is exciting! Congratulations, carlingford, on 57 days. It is early days yet, but you sound good. Expect to feel better and better as time passes. Everyone is different. Some of us heal right away, others take more time. I felt "normal" at around 90 days in. Cravings stopped, and my sleep became more restful. But...I felt really, really good after about a year of sobriety. Mentally strong and confident. Keep coming back.

Thanks Maudcat for your reply. I love happy stories, cravings getting less, TG. trying to get more exercise which helps me sleep better. Head getting clearer and clearer by the day, I drank for 35 years, I will give by body time to recover, thanks again.

Congrats on your progress Carlingford. I drank for a lot of years so it took 3 months or so for me to start to get energy back & lose the fogginess?.

I think you're well within the curve of common experience at the moment :)

Wonderful to hear your good news, Carlingford. :)

It took me a few months to stop feeling exhausted and shredded. I'd put myself through so much, emotionally and physically. You will heal and mend.

Im at one month today.
Im 40 years old from Ireland (tipp)
I dont want to give lessons but my story (6 lines )
Started drinking young and started blackouts young.
I dabbled in drugs too and there was a point where I could not have a drink but it would finish with drugs.
Personally have to be very careful cause I let stress and anxiety mount up too easily. Dealing with things ODAAT. I will be hoping to hear from you around xmas still sober :)

Your doing fine.
Keep going.
