trip to the grocery store

I handle skipping the wine aisles, which is next to the bread but today they were doing tastings on the bread side of the aisles. Wow, that was hard, I actually flashed the thought that I could have just a taste....I didn't. I'm on Day 13. I've come too far to throw it away...again!

I know right! Where I live the hard liquor section is in the same section as the bread and deli. I mean what the heck!

Raeven - It was upsetting for me in the early weeks of recovery too. I'd get kind of angry & resentful. Not sure why, I knew what it would do to me. The more sober time I had, the less it bothered me. Now it doesn't phase me at all. You're doing great!

Some of the grocery stores here just recently built liquor marts inside. Luckily (for me) liquor sales are still a government monopoly so the booze sales are segregated from the grocery sales.

At my grocery store they actually make/sell margaritas when u walk in the front door. And actually I feel like tonight on tv everyone also has a cocktail in hand. Its like its just everywhere at the moment... Very frustrating 😈

What?!?! I never even liked margaritas, but that would be a little bit difficult for me even now. That's wild.

I was glad when I quit that my grocery stores are alcohol free.

I never thought of that - the sampling will increase as we get closer to xmas. One thing to remember, although it will only be the bigger stores here, so I might just stick to the smaller supermarkets.

It was my first direct confrontation, so it was a shock. But I think I will get used to it. Thanks all!

Ok. I shall no longer post when I am under the influence of ILL. Jeepers.

Very few small town stores sell liquor in grocery stores around the province we live in, Otherwise all liquor stores are separate and government operated in the bigger city centers. There are offsales but I believe they are government regulated but privately owned.

So we really do have to go out of our way to buy booze where I live. I feel for you guys who have it thrown in your face at every corner.
