Hi guys....I'm behind on the thread already.
But I'm in for a sober weekend. Today is day 1000 for me....*****....it is possible. Thanks to all the good people on SR who helped me, especially in the beginning.
I'm finally getting over this endless cold. Looking forward to a relaxing weekend.

Finally home from a long work week. Exercised the dog, ate dinner, just pulled off the boots and work clothes and settling in for a nice weekend.

MLS that's very clever of your daughter!

Mecanix, thank you for that reminder. It bears repeating every week because my short term memory always forgets the pain the further I am from it.

Sao, good point. We all only get one go around. Thanks. Since I didn't know you before you quit drinking I can only comment on your posts now and I think you are clever and insightful. Glad you weren't hurt by spent shrapnel.

Bedtime at this end. See you all tomorrow.

Coffee? Great idea!

Love the frog and scorpion parable. It's one I'll remember and repeat a few times for sure.

edit: 1000 days is incredible HAF

Congratulations!

I haven't got anything planned today which isnt ideal - idle hands and all that. I'm definitely going to paint, read and get to a meeting but I feel at a loose end regardless!

It's nice reading everyone's posts and catching up :-)

Good morning everyone.

Yogini, going to a meeting is a good idea. I have a regular one I attend on Saturdays. It sets s nice tone for the day.

That said, I'm skipping out of my regular meeting today because I'm going horseback riding with my daughter, niece and sister in law. Should be fun but I'll be sore later.

Keep on, everyone.

Welcome to the thread 5upersonic

Horseriding sounds fun Ruby, have fun

I have been Christmas shopping. My grandaughters are 4 and 1 and a half so still relatively easy and cheap

My 2 twenty something daughters much less easy and not as cheap. I can cop out a bit with the younger one and give her money which I know she would prefer anyway. The older married one is tough, I suppose I have to get a husband and wife type present. I am going to have a danish pastry, another coffee and a ponder

Thank you teaorcoffee. I really dislike it so I try to get the big dark cloud hanging over me out of the way. When i was drinking it was ALWAYS last minute

Well it looks like I'm not alone. Over 6 years sober and at a stalemate. It's like there is this side of me that says, OK you're gonna stay sober but you ain't gonna do nothing else. Bizarre, I'm in, rootin for everyone.
