Hey all . Ive "played with " quitting - and with - up to 89 days sober- once- - recently... Im a musician, as a hobby. . Being trashed/ drunk has ruined/limited my opportunities / creativity- something NEEDED to excel... and my day job - wow- limited by my morning hangovers.
Im DONE DONE DONE .
with this drunken at night lifestyle......
Just last night, while at the store , my local store, I was greeted by the guy behind the counter as " hey - its the BEER guy" - REALLY? NO!!
So - today, I come clean- telling you all - as of Nov 1, 2016 I will be sober- !

Declarations are great. The decision to quit is the first step in recovery. You can't quit until you decide to.

But how do you plan to support that decision?

Welcome! Choosing day one is the first best step.

Now what?

Good decision but I found that I had to back that decision with positive actions to maintain sobriety. Like Carl said.

The guys behind the counter at the local gas station asked "No Beer this time?!" NO. No beer, thank you very much. As much as we'd like to think otherwise, we weren't fooling anyone.

Glad to hear you've made the decision to get sober Livingnow, I can pretty much guarantee you won't regret it in the long run. Have you made any decisions about what plan or program you might follow to stay sober? There's a ton of support here for whatever path you might choose.

Congratulations on a fantastic decision.

I encourage you to WELCOME sobriety... to embrace it with all you've got.... to really give yourself to experiencing how awesome life really is when you're clear of addiction and free from the cycle of destruction and madness.

It really is better.

You really can do it.
