Living in the moment .

Hi i have no idea how to post . Maybe this is a post . Facing fears about things i dont know how to do . Just taking action to do them regardless is what i have been learning . My sponsor tend to encorage me to get out of my comfort zone and just do it . Living in the moments can be a challenge for me . I at times have racing thoughts . I know i get reminders like fly where are you feet right now? I would say standing on my deck . Then they say ok what is the very next thing you are going to do? I love recovery people who help me get grounded. I believe god works through them . It gives me gratitude. Not doing things alone is a much easyier jorney .

Hi fly, glad you're here. I went to rehab about a year ago and the teachings were all about living in the moment. It's hard to do. But I learned that my thoughts control my emotions. And that you can't believe everything you think. Your thoughts are not truth, they are just thoughts. Yet most of us walking around believing our thoughts -- which can lead to feelings of anxiety, depression, etc -- are fact. When you change your thoughts, you change your emotions. I know it sounds simplistic, maybe even pollyanna-ish, but give it a try. I don't do AA, but it's a fine thing when other people can relate to you and bring you back down to earth. :-)
