Day 17
Day 17 is done. Cravings yesterday, but not today. I spend over an hour a day between SR, praying, playing the tape forward, and...being glad I don't drink. It will be a lifelong battle, but I won yesterday, and I feel good about winning today, and that's all I'm going to worry about for a while, just like the only beer I need to focus on is the first one...Thank you all for your posts, they really do help me, and I hope help you as well.

Good to hear! You are doing the right stuff. Keep going.
Do you have a program? Both for occupying time and, more importantly, learning a new way of life, AA is a great idea right now.
Don't drink - today. Employ those skills you mention. "Take it easy" used to bother me as an annoying AA slogan (I am a devoted AA-er and those sayings don't bother me now, and in fact make sense) but truthfully, doing one thing at a time is much easier than globalizing.
Good luck.

Congrats , I found it easier to see it as a life long commitment that I live everyday, staying committed and present in every Now I experience. All those Nows , the present one and all the ones to follow will add up , I don't have to battle every Now, sometimes I may have to take a step back and breath but it's doable and getting through what may be a difficult Now makes me even more confident of the next one and me being able to persevere. I'm not quite cut out to be in battle mode everyday, so I decided to call the war ended.
wish you well and hope to see you around
