Day 25
I don't think I've has this many days sober in a row since 2008, which is kind of shocking to me since I'm, a, working on fixing a marriage, b, looking for more gainful employment, and, c, potentially facing both a move and a major life change.
Anxiety is a constant factor... Alcohol was always my savior in that regard and natural remedies can't hold a candle to it, but I'm trying. Depression rears its ugly head, too.
But my cravings have been less than I feared they would be and without all the empty calories I'm dropping weight, both good things.
I'm considering my first AA meeting today. My first session of marriage counseling is tomorrow and it couldn't hurt to get some extra strength beforehand, right? It's sure to be awkward and uncomfortable and those are two of my triggers for sure.
Thanks for reading, whoever reads.
We are on a great adventure.

Congrats on 25 days! Its normal to feel a bit apprehensive about your first AA meeting. Try to remember that those people really relate to you and they understand. They are there for the newcomer. If you're not comfortable introducing yourself (they ask anyone in their first 30 days or anyone new to introduce themselves) don't. You can do it when you're ready. Obviously at some point you should take the plunge, but if you need to be quiet the first meeting or two that's ok. Just try to relax and listen. Its kinda like SR but with faces. You aren't alone.
