I so wish I could turn back time and insist my best friend get help sooner, medical help earlier would have saved her life. Please join me in honoring her life in sobriety. It's been easier for me to with stain having her image in my mind, so sick. Best to all.
Thanks Thomas, I can't even hold enough down to taper. I followed your journey and I know I can't do it. I'm in a slow and miserable withdrawal and when the last beer is gone it gets worse. I'm thinking about the clinic, but afraid they won't let me leave, BAC and whatnot.
seems going to the clinic would be the best, safest thing for you to do.
I truly hope you go. withdrawl is serious and deadly.
and you deserve to the help getting sober.
MF, ya titled the thread "hospital or death."
and said, ' I don't have a choice any more." you do have a choice, but going to the hospital/clinic should be your only choice.
don't let fear keep you from going. get some courage and get going!!

Thoughts are with you MF...
I've lost count of how many times i've ended up in ER after a bender and everytime it was for the better or god knows what would've happened...
Don't hesitate going there MF x

Hi MF.... I'm working on my day 1 today too.. Not feeling very well either but we can get past this. I have also been to the ER several times. They pump you up and send you home. Replenish your vitamins and electrolytes. Good luck!!

MF, go to the hospital. Here in the uk they have a policy to NOT admit withdrawing alcoholics, imagine that. They just check your vitals, if the checklist says you're unlikely to die at this very instant, they kick you out with a phone number to a community addiction centre. By checklist I mean bp systolic beneath 220(!), heartrate below 130, breathing slower than 20 a min, o2 sat over 94%, so off you go, get a drink so you don't die, and don't let the door hit you on the way out. I had to lie and promise to off myself before they admitted me for 24 hours and stabilised me somewhat.
Seriously man, if you live in a country that actually allows you to get help with withdrawal, use it. I was at the point of drinking a beer every hour or two as well. no sleep, no food, just booze 24/7 for two weeks. Couldn't even get drunk at that point, just drank so I didn't shake, and so that my head didn't explode, so I feel you man, I do. Get. Help. People die like this all the time, and its pointless, and wasteful, and needless. You really wanna become a statistic?
