I started playing Pokemon Go, but I can no longer sign in. I tried signing in on a different phone, and even with a different Google account, but it didn't work. This has been going on for 2 days. Really disappointed because I was kind of getting into the game. My life is so nothing, that going to pokestops was pretty much the only reason I'd leave the house. My other reason to leave the house is to go to the liquor store, so whatever.

Have you tried out geocaching? I've been interested in that for a while to get myself out and try something new.

Maybe I will do that with my little one this weekend since it's thanksgiving weekend and we don't have anything planned.

If your game updated to version 39 and your phone is rooted, you cannot play so you would have to go online and find v35 (which still works).
They also are very ban happy and your account might have been banned by accident.

I got one of my accounts banned for boting a while back LOL
I did not mind because I had two more and it turned out great. My friend had two Japanese friends visit one being a 16 years old girl.
I was wondering what to talk about to a 16 year old Japanese teenager... so I asked her if she played pokemon LOL

Well it turned out that we both played and had been both banned for boting... we became great buddies :P

More seriously, it sounds from your post that you are very lonely/isolated and a bit depressed. Have you considered either going to face to face meetings to get out of the house and meet other supportive people?
Another thing might be since you are not currently working to look into volunteering. It will get you out and it is a great way to meet interesting people.

Hang in there, the longer you stay sober the easier it gets and things WILL get better. Your life is not worthless and you are not alone
