One day at a time...

You have heard that a LOT! Here in the UK back in January, the nation mourned - we still are. Here is David Bowie telling us 'We Can Be Heroes Just For One Day'

It still hurts us here in the UK- we had our hearts ripped out that day in January. - enjoy the performance and remember ONE day at a time Xx

Z ,

I too feel your loss.

David Bowie was a personal hero of mine -both sober and using.

I remember listening to "Space Oddity".

I am too young have been listening to him live.

It took me a while to figure out that he was Ziggy Stardust.

Iloved "Starman" and album "The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars".

Did you ever watch "The Man who Fell to Earth?

And so much more...

You honor his memory - maybe others would welcome the chance to do the same?

Take care Z

: for posting.

fabulous thread zanna, Bowie was an icon, a master of his craft. quite simply a GENIOUS. Great thread. We can all take inspiration from such people, I love fashion, ashes to ashes, life on mars, little china girl etc etc and he was a good actor as well, shame he didnt take it further . elle x

Thanks guys - My friend at the sports centre Pat - she was 13 yrs older than me - she broke down in tears when John Lennon died - I thought she was a loony at the time. Never understood until Bowie went on 10th Jan. Little sod did release a crazy album a few days before, but we just thought' oh that's Bowie re-inventing himself yet again, you know? Then 10th Jan I literally couldn't do a THING - had to cancel all work and appointments - I was a mess.
I think it was more that it was another piece of my childhood gone, you know? I was too young to know or go tohis concerts, but thaat guy made a MASSIVE impact on the UK and it seems far beyond - and I'm so grateful to know that - thank you!! Xxx
it was the first time the UK broke down since Princess Diana - THAT is how much he meant over here - I still can't watch him without tears xxx

I'm with FnB, posts where we let it flow early on should remain. I truly believe upon reflection, it makes us stronger. And Bowe was pretty awesome. I hate to admit it, but I really like the Rolling Stones now too.

His music was a huge part of my life, Zanna. It was good to start a thread about your feelings for him. I was another one who cried when Lennon was killed - and Princess Diana. (Recorded her entire funeral & still have it .)

Thank you! Angie is the best by the Stones - amazes me how Mick still rocks the stage at his age - am exhausted watching him
Sitting here listening to John Denver - another fave of mine - I guess like with cars, we always want them from other countries? Mines a Ford KA Thanks xxx

I've listened to his last album "Blackstar" constantly since January, along with his back catalog. To say he's one of a kind is an understatement. We lost a good one.
