Day 4
Hello friends,
I've started over. I wanted to reach out to people in this forum to promise I will continue to post.
I turn 40 today. 40!
And I'm 4 days sober.
I've been doing a lot of reading - This Naked Mind by Annie Grace, and a lot of research about learning to 'sit with my discomfort'.
I think this time it will be better.
I will keep posting. Daily if need be.

drash, I read the same book. It makes a lot of sense. Once we figure out that alcohol,initself, does not have any positive benefits, it becomes a lot easier to deal with "not drinking". Congrats on 40, you have a 17 year advantage over me, I'm 57. It's a whole new better world out there, and it's free for our taking.

Believe me, that's a great start on a new sober life.
I was your age when I sobered up in a treatment hospital years ago.
Being sober after living my crazy drunken life was so good for me.

Happy Birthday and GREAT job on being sober for such a monumental birthday!! Just turned 40 myself this year and turned on my "check liver light" that weekend...was a tough birthday for me. Glad you found clarity prior. As for Friday, you've got it, just set your mind to it today, make a plan and stick to it.
