Day 5 down
Hi all,
New here just finished day 5 and am headed to bed sober, feels weird but I like it, on Tuesday I had my last drink. Woke up wed morning in a fog not remembering much from the night before, wife was mad again so I found this site and I read a few post that mentioned the book Stop drinking now, by Allen Carr so I found it on Amazon and had it overnighted and finished it yesterday, so far no cravings, the book really sets you straight on what I was already thinking, I haven't tried the cd yet but I might do that in time,
Hopefully this works,
We'll night all..

Good for you, that's great! Love Carr's books, they are great literature to be sure.
If you ever feel wavering in your resolve, post and read here lots, and build a plan and maybe throw in some more literature. The Naked Mind is another good one that is along the same line as Carr.
Welcome to SR

Welcome to SR!! Two good threads are the 24 hour thread, you can post your commitment daily, also the monthly classes, you should join October, you will find others at the same point in their recovery journey.

Welcome, Iowa.
And way to go on six days!
You might enjoy the secular forum farther down the list, and AVRT.
And if books or people contradict each other....so what? In fact, for me that was useful. It led me to look more honestly at how my beliefs and experiences fit or didn't fit with what I was reading, or with each other.

Hello... Congrats on day 11! You're doing Great!! It's very normal. You're probably very close to being past the physical withdrawals but you could still be having some. You're mind will try to "play tricks" on you now and tempt you to take a drink or talk you into the idea that you can handle it now. Stay close to SR and keep posting whenever you need support and encouragement. You can get through this! Look how far you've come already! I bet you never thought you could get this far.
