You all are very inspiring.......
I read this board every day now and I cannot tell you how inspiring it is to read about all u folks who have maintained your sobriety after what had to be a monumental struggle -- and continues to be I am sure.
I am also inspired by the folks who give it a go and then have their relapses, but get back and continue to fight. The old saying is true. The measure of a person is not if they get knocked down, it is if they get back up. And there are some people who are really down on themselves, but keep getting back up.
As for me, because of how my life is I cannot just give it up cold turkey. Having a seizure at work would look bad.😉 So I am going into a planned detox. I am preparing for it though by cutting back as much as I can stand until I go "in-house." I am at about 6 drinks a day. And just doing that has been inspired by y'all.
Fight on y'all!

I agree, ERosey, that those with long-term sobriety are very inspiring. They keep me coming back here with hope for a similar life. But please know that you are inspiring, too, for making a plan to detox and putting the wheels in motion. I wish you the best as your plan unfolds. You're going to do wonderfully!
