I had to ride the crave wave..

I was at odds on whether or not to post this, but decided to to help myself and others. I'm currently 17 days without a drink and today had a severe craving for some wine.

The beast started reasoning with me that if I just had one bottle (yea, bottle) that I would not have to worry about the withdrawals because it's just one.

The beast also had me rationalizing that since I was going on a walk anyway, I might as well go to the store-no one would know.

I stuck very close to SR all day today, did some housework, and did some surfing online.

I'm pleased to say, I'm still sober and even went for my walk. All praises to God for keeping me.

congrats on killing the voice of the beast! It can be quite sneaky when it chooses.

I'm glad you posted. A craving is the best time to post and get support. It will pass.

Oh I hate cravings! The first few weeks were really tough with cravings. They have gotten better for me but they still happen. Now I know they will pass and that it will be over soon. Good job on not giving in!

Thank you for this post! Last night I had to go in a store for a couple things and was feeling vulnerable. So, in the parking lot I got onto SR and saw this post of yours. It helped keep me strong. <3
