Witching hour is here. Child 2 has thrown one of his epic tantrums (75 minutes, thank you very much). And my back seems to be objecting to the fact that I did yoga yesterday. All of which me in a former life might have used as an excuse to drink. Now it seems like the perfect excuse to knock up some peanut butter and choc chip cookies, have a shower, get take out and settle in with a movie with Mr Floss. Which is pretty much what I had planned for this evening, with the addition of some baking. Isn't it nice to feel like you can deal with life on its own terms?

Retirement - I think my plan will just have to involve raising exceptional children who'll keep me in the lifestyle to which I want to become accustomed. Wonder how I go about turning them into exceptional?!

MB, my thoughts are with you. One of my favourite quotes is attributed to Churchill: “If you’re going through hell, keep going.” It won't always be this bad.

ETA: Simplicity, it's spring.

You turn in the opposite direction and you start planting one foot in front of the other. In this case, you run, you run fast and you run far.

Anyone who would bring up marriage on the 2nd date has issues. Perhaps he was joking but even still, many times when something like this comes out in jest it's a way to "test the waters". Looking for a reaction.

If he does genuinely seem like a nice guy maybe give him another chance and if he brings it up again let him know that it makes you feel uncomfortable.

I'm in! Thanks Dee, I do identify with the weekend being a blur. In fact, one of the nicest things about getting sober was finding out that Saturday and Sunday mornings really do exist!

Have a great sober weekend everyone!

Ten foot pole time.

OK... So the last two hours were pointless.

Tetra, I agree with LadyBlue. Desperate folks show their colors quickly. Turn that page.

Going to work from home today. My boss ribbed me saying to make sure I enjoy some of my day today. Wink wink. Guess a Friday work from home day is a tad obvious. Wink wink

1 more hour and the sun is up and I am out the door.

Moving home today. Looking forward to finishing unpacking in the new house tonight and relaxing with a takeaway and family movie on the sofa. That's s a first...... I usually look forward to a bottle or two of wine after an eventful day. It's my day 16 and I think I'm slowly starting to change my thought process. Feels good

Stick with it people. We can win!

Hi Mr. Dee!!! Like what you did with the place.

it's gonna rain. My run will not take place. I thought it was to be sunny. Perhaps if I run between the drops I can make it. But then I need to lose a few stones to do that. (See what I did there... Stones... Very British of me)

or

hope all are prepared to alter their routine if they have to in order to avoid the weekend habits of old... you don't have to drink if you don't want to... just make sure you have a plan in place to help you through it...

I'm in !! Lots of American football on the television on weekends. I typically slam beers with my buddy during the Sunday NFL games and then have a rotten Sunday night and Monday morning. I successfully navigated my way through watching some football last weekend sober. I plan to be sober again this weekend. Breaking the cycle of self destruction, failure and guilt.

Today is day 14 for me. I am determine to enjoy day 17 on Monday !!

PEACE !!! ✌️☮✌☮

Good job on making it through a football Sunday sober, Rob! I was really worried about that when I first quit - but having made it through a partial season 2014-15 and a whole season last year, I have found I have more fun watching sober, and I don't have to keep asking other people what happened in various games I had actually watched!

((((MidnightBlue)))) - hang in there!

You can do this, Pinky - never have to do that again!

Ken - can I have some of your energy, please!? LOL - I have been energetic but not wanting-to-run-in-the-middle-of-the night energetic!

Welcome, newcomers!

Been enjoying my days off and doing things I like, instead of drinking and becoming depressed and unproductive. Decorated the porch for fall, been working more on fixing up the basement, getting house clean and organized, reading, etc. Supe excited about scheduling a massage for today - have a lot of tension in my neck and back so am indulging.

Have a good Friday, everyone!

Push on through the weekend. You all absolutely can do it. It was hard to know what to do with the time in the beginning but now, it gets filled pretty quickly.

MB, you will get through this and be stronger for it, even though it's awful at the moment. And you probably don't want to be strong, you just want it to go away.

Flossy, cookies and a movie sound wonderful. Ouch on junior's tantrum. I'm always amazed they can keep going.

On the train to work. Nice time to sit and collect my thoughts
