There will be hard days but that's ok

There will be hard days .. Some days will be downright awful but understand why you are in recovery today, don't fool yourself or think this is just temporary it's a trap that many can't get out of I've seen it way too often & have got used to losing people please for yourself realise that if you stick at recovery it yields gifts that will change your life & possibly others too by just following from your example. The stuff that has happened in my sober life would not have happened if I wasn't sober.

Look to the little things & know your not alone not now.. not ever it doesn't have to be like this, if you feel ready make a post get involved

And remember there will be hard days but there is support here 24h a days 365 days a week your not alone

Welcome to any Guests & hi to any Newcomers

SR has helped me stick to sobriety more than anything else. I hope in time it will also help me with recovery.

Great post SW. Stopping drinking doesn't make your life great. Life is still life. But it does make even the bad days a little better. There will be days that you just have to power through and reach out for help. Luckily they don't last that long. So just don't drink for that minute, hour, or day or whatever it takes. Get up and do something to take your mind off drinking. Talk to a friend, go for a walk, do a chore. You get the idea. And, yes, sometimes you have to force yourself to do that.

I've accomplished things that weren't even on my radar screen while drinking. This really is a better way of life.

Thanks Wolf. Support is crucial to carry you through bad days. I don't go to meetings , my spouse is a drinker, and I am busy with work and kids. My perfect support system is here at SR. It is here whenever I want and need it and it is full of experience and hope.

Indeed there will be hard days. I thank God that SR was here during the aftermath of my daughter's death. Days when things were so bad that I felt like I would explode if I didn't let some of the pain out. I felt safe having a total melt down and then finding a measure of relief from a bazillion supportive responses. Ever month or two I would melt down and every time I found nothing but support
