Personal Growth in Sobriety Weekender Sept 16th - Part 1
I heard that in NY state, the DEC
is thinking of re-introducing mountain
lions to curb the deer population.
As if having a bear trying to climb
up my tree stand to hang out with me
wasn't bad enough.

Good morning!
Ken, thank you so much for being our gracious host. This thread has felt like home to me over the past year or so since I found it. I'm glad you'll still be around.

I am in!
Ken, thank you for all that you've done. I don't get much time to come in and read, and the thread gets away from me, but just entering the words that I'm in solidifies my weekend.
I'm glad that you'll still be here.

Climbing aboard the sober bus!!
The weekenders, and SR, are a safe place for me and my sobriety. I remember when I first joined, I wasn't really working a plan. I had been sober for a few years and just assumed I was living my sober life.
I had forgotten what it was about hanging with people just like me.
I was, and always will be, just one drink away from falling down that rabbit hole again. But the life line of this place fills me with serenity.
Even if I don't post as much as I like, I know everyone is here and I know I belong.
Thank you, Weasel, for providing this for us.

Hi Ken! I am here with my party dress on and my feet are itching to dance! It is going to be an awesome sober weekend and I am going to love it because I am going live it. In my active addiction I never lived life. I was just hunting for pills and then drinking when I didn't have any. What a crappy life. But now I am sober and my eyes are wide open to the possibilities out there.
Let's rock this weekend!

Thanks Ken so much for your thoughtful hosting week in and week out. Your OP's each week really set the tone for the thread, and really have helped me focus my thoughts in preparation for the upcoming weekend. Like most alcoholics, weekends are a particularly difficult time for me, and you and the rest of the Weekenders have been an enormous part of my success in sobriety over the past three months.
Hats off to you, sir. Chapeau.
I'm on the bus and ready for a fantastic sober weekend.

I'm in! Although I am relatively new, I thank you, Ken, for your service. Weekends can definitely be a struggle, and this it is nice to know this thread and you all are here.
I might not be around much... Bf is out of town so I have planned a weekend for my daughter and myself at my sisters house. We'll be hanging with the young uns and watching football. My hometown Mizzou Tigers take on my new town Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday. Go Tigers!!! Watching the game is quite an event in my family. Anyway--probably won't have a lot of time to post but I'll be lurking... lol...
Have an awesome weekend, all!
