Six Months Today :)
Six Months Today :)
Quietly celebrating with La Croix(s) while I pack for my work trip to Las Vegas.
You know, when I started on day one, I went through a wall calendar hanging in my kitchen and marked off the milestones - 30 days, 60 days, 90 days - then months - but I didn't go past September - 6 months seemed soooooo far away.
Guess I need to mark up a new calendar
There was something cool about doing that and making it visible for my family. We don't talk about it a whole lot, but I wanted to be accountable.
I have noticed shifts in thinking, improved ability to handle stress and excitement, and a new enjoyment of very simple things like walking my dog, or conversations. I think my senses have improved too.

Major congrats! Six months is fantastic. Be careful in Vegas they don't call it sin city for nothing. I was recently there and alcohol is everywhere. I got through it and you will to because we don't drink anymore
Congratulations on six months!! Enjoy marking up that new calendar.
I need to try the La Croix, lots of people on here talk about them. I have been an Arizona Zero Green Tea fanatic for the past few months.

Hey Madgirl, Congratulations.
We here in Friends and Family need all the good news we can get!! I spend lots of time in the newcomers forum as it is so inspiring seeing folks quitting or at least trying to quit.
Many of the stories here involve drinkers who have no intention of quitting. It is so heartbreakingly sad. (I just commented on a post by someone with a father in end stage alcoholism) Hmmm . . . maybe an Angel bumped you into the wrong forum to cheer us up!

Secondly, the calendar is a great idea. I have a calendar for spreadsheet on my fridge for 90 meetings in 90 days that I check off but the calendar would be a great addition.
