7 days ..
May not seem like much, but it felt like a lifetime considering how many "friends" contacted me to join them for some drinks. Obviously, I turned down all of the offers and more importantly than that, I came to a realization .. Every single one of these people who reached out to me did so specifically including the words "drink" or "beer" in their invitations. I don't think I really realized while drinking that they don't ever do so to just get lunch or go do something that does not revolve around alcohol. The only thing I can think of that we've done before is go play basketball at the park, but even then it is ensued with something along the lines of "What are you going to do now ? Let's go grab some beers." One day at a time I'm recovering. Every minute is a new victory.

One full week! That's a great milestone.
A lot of invitations include a drink. Depending on the friend, I'll usually suggest meeting for lunch or something that won't include alcohol as the central reason for meeting.
At this point most of my friends are accustomed to my having soda or water and don't bat an eye. Very few know about my alcoholism.
