New and scared

Well here I am after years of telling myself that I will be ok and I don't have a problem ( loosing friends and jobs I knew deep down this wasn't the cases) but after a month of drinking heavily day and night...passing out and starting again I have had to tell myself I can not carry on...my eyes are red n sore with a bloated face n I look terrible to my usual self - are these normal symptoms ?
Had the shakes this morning so the doctor sent me to a place called last orders who's advised me NOT to stop drinking !? This has upset me because I don't want to be drinking and now I'm scared! Any advice I don't want to feel like this anymore

Welcome.

What did Last Orders advise besides NOT to stop drinking? Anything to get you closer to quitting?

Did they give you a taper schedule? What else did they say?

Welcome, Jesse!

Yes, I would like to hear more about a plan to stop.

So happy you took action, that took courage.

They have booked me in for a meeting next week so it was more of a consultation ....that's not till Monday and I feel like I didn't get much advice - they said to just stop would be dangerous though because of the amounts I've been drinking scary stuff I can't believe I got to this point! Trying to drink loads of water and been drinking lucazade to try n help!

It can be dangerous.

My suggestion would be to go back to your dr and ask for more advice to help you through the next week.

Welcome Jessy. You will feel better in time. The first week seems to be one of the toughest. I agree with others that you should be careful and listen to your doctor.
