Being sober is...
Being sober is...
Remembering to brush your teeth everyday because you care, not because it feels like a rotting sewer rat is in it.
... On that not flossing too!
Being scared to ride your bike to work, but doing it anyway because you know it would ultimately be good for you. Not being hung over and negative self talking yourself for not already doing it.
Waking up before your alarm on days you don't have to be up crazy early and basking in the soft morning light and the quietness of it all.
Looking people in the eye when they talk to you.
Looking myself in the eye in the mirror.
Making sound foods decisions and healthy portions.
Kinda loving myself again.. What does it look like yo you?

Totally agree on the looking people- and myself- in the eye!!
Being sober is...
Laughing openly, honestly and often.
Listening to others.
Prayer. And thoughtfulness on spiritual matters.
Concentration and presence.
Amazing.

Mmmmm, August- I feel that! Beautiful!
Being sober is....
Making my husband laugh in the AM because I just made breakfast and we are giddy and happy this morning and telling jokes over tea and coffee.
Getting ready for work and appreciating the sound of the classical music coming from my husband's bass as he practices.
Getting to receive ALL my cats love with out being annoyed because I would normally be running late.

For me, being sober looks like....
20-20 vision versus everything being blurred.
My thoughts are clearer and making a decisions is easier.
Feeling more balanced in life and beginning to dream about the future rather than dread it.

Being Sober is:
Being a better example for my children.
Not hating myself when I look in the mirror.
Loving the person that is looking back at me.
Not worrying about busting my but each morning in the shower.

Making real connections with people.
Learning to like myself.
Being a better parent.
Letting things that I can't control go.
Going to bed early and getting up early, ready to start the day with no regrets or hangover!
