Hi, Ken.
Thanks!! I'm thinking I might go for a drive and watch the sun come up somewhere if I don't sleep soon.

Good morning world!

Junior seems on the mend. We gave Mrs B a lie in. Laundry done, breakfast done, groceries done.

Happy Labor Day!!!!

Ahem.....

Wolfies birthday is actually in May
And K is happy this labor day
and why you ask, this change of tone,
because his car is not covered in chicken bones!!!

Bad burma shave!

Hi Midnight!!!

Zanna I have a GF grill on the back deck. It's the bigger model. I never considered that. I will give it a try. Thanks.

Good morning everyone!

Ken, volunteering is going great! I was honored to receive the award for volunteer of the month for September, love working with this group, I'll be an ongoing permanent fixture.

If you're interested, the meditation group for men is every Monday at 5:15. I know this well as I prep the whiteboards every Sunday for the coming day. If you come up with any good inspirational sobriety quotes let me know, I'll stick them on the boards. I usually look them up online but lately see the same ones over and over. Could use some fresh words. Actually, if anyone here has some good ones let me know. The center deals with all addictions so if it could encompass sobriety in itself and not just one DOC that would be awesome.

I wanted to get a mindfulness meditation group going but I just don't have the time right now. This 4th step is killing me. It's good stuff but it's intense.

Working today although it's the holiday to make up for leaving Weds to get hubby's arm checked out at the ortho doctor.

Have a great sober Monday everyone!

Happy Labor Day... whatever that means...

Happy Day to All...
I think I'm going to take the day off... I still need to cap the entrance (threshold)to the 'pergola of perpetuity', and decided to fence in the other end with a rail - still under $350 counting everything... hahahaha

Been looking at plants. I told the wife that tiered garden structure was designed for decorative plants - not peppers and tomatoes...
finally, after so many years, I'm going to make it a visual masterpiece (cough cough)...

I still have the main deck to refinish... I wanted to wait until I was finished using it as a workshop and dragging dirt all over it... and it wasn't stinkin hot...

happy birthday soberwolf and midnight... for next year...

sounds like you are in a nice setting MM... if I had known I was gonna lose my job I woulda-shoulda got the pick up truck I wanted at the time... but I figured I had five years...

oh, and don't forget, make sure you are prepared to take care of yourself if you are attending any labor day picnics/parties... it would a shame to end the summer by falling back into the trap that is alcohol... stand your ground!

it is possible to have too much talent on a stage

oh, my uncle showed me his bacon in the microwave oven trick... just put bacon between paper towels and zap it for about four minutes or less, experiment until you get it right - it works

Happy Labor Day!

I always do my bacon in the oven. Hmmm. Might be a good day for BLT's.

So much easier to clean up and not grease splatters on the stove top. I sit two raised grates on a cookie sheet and spray with PAM. perfect every time.

I do the same, and line the cookie sheet with heavy duty tin foil. Then just wait for the bacon grease to solidify, throw the tin foil away, and voila. Almost no clean-up.

Thanks LadyB. I will have to let you know when I am coming over for something to meet and say hello! I think I will go to a SMART meeting if I can. Do you go to them?

High surf advisory so going to head over to the beach and the rocks to watch the waves crash. Love storms. As long as everyone is safe that is.

The guy who is on staff when I'm there on Sundays runs the SMART meetings and I've been toying going to them. He's a great guy. The meetings are on Thursday when I'm making Operation Hope calls. Then on Fridays which I may go to the 3rd Friday of the month and then stay and check out open mic after.

Don't forget the Rally for Recovery in the Oaks on the 18th! That's going to be a blast. I'll be there volunteering for whatever is needed.

I will look that up. I need to get some sober friends and this might be a good way to do that.
