Day 12 and i am losing it
I had a few weeks at the beginning of pretty extreme emotional swings. One minute, I'd be feeling good about everything, and the next, I'd be anxious, overwhelmed, and crying. I was in treatment, and was told it's normal. It's part of Post Acute Withdrawal Syndrome (PAWS), which can last a while. Up to two years, with gradual improvement. Here's a link to a website that explains it. Post-Acute Withdrawal Symptoms - Relapse Prevention Strategies
It's normal. Be patient. Nothing sucks forever.

Blink,
Easy does it.
A friend in need is a friend indeed.
My neighbor used to have these signs hanging in his garage.
I believe they are AA slogans.
This was when I was about 12 or so....40 years ago.
Keep reading and posting.
It works.
What an amazing thread.
We are in this together.
Nice job and thanks for the post.

Wow. I really appreciate the support. Thanks to each and everyone of you.
August, I am doing good as of right now. Luckily I had the day off because I woke up with terrible anxiety this morning. It lasted until the afternoon. I have spent the most of the afternoon reading on here and I just started to read the book Unwasted. It's very good so far.
Weekends are usually tough. Especially with college football starting tomorrow. I will make it through. With the help of you guys of course.

Totally normal in my experience. I had quite a bit of anxiety in the first 2 months and feeling on edge. At 8 months, I'm still facing some social anxiety but dealing with it step by step. Would never ever trade it for the shaky, sweaty, panicky, untethered anxiety of active alcoholism that I felt though!
