First night out
Well I made it thru a bachelorette party sober! I skipped the bar part but went to the lingerie party and dinner where everyone was drinking. I'm going on 8 weeks and I wasn't sure how I would feel but it was totally fine! I wouldn't have gone if I felt any different. I feel blessed that I have made it this far. I do a lot of things for my recovery but the most important part is not picking up that first drink and I promise the obsession and cravings do get less and less if you break the cycle. Goodnight everyone!!

It was fun! I had lots of family there so to spend time with them was great. I prepared for this night for a few days. I talked to my counselor and we wrote out a plan. I met with my sponsor at a meeting the same day as the party, we talked after the meeting, I read the big book before going and I prayed. it wasn't the hardest thing I've ever done with all that preparation.
Linz,
What a strong woman you are. So proud of you.
And it must have been fun. We can feel it in your post. You have also provided a teachable moment for many of us who are working on re-entering a world full of challenges. "Make a plan!" Thanks for the reminder

Thank you Dame! That is sweet of you. Yes make a plan and when all else fails just leave if you can't handle it. I was prepared to not even say goodbye. It really helped that I had someone on the outside waiting for me to tell her how my night went. I couldn't go back to her telling her I had drank. Nor did I want to! The crazy thing is in my dream last night I had drank at the party and I was so disappointed!! I woke up this morning and for a split second I thought did I?? And thank god it was just a dream
