Hey everyone, I found this site a few days ago and have been reading some of your posts while trying to get the nerve to post my own. My boyfriend is an active alcoholic who is currently on a wait list for rehab. I have some questions as to what do I do in the meantime?? Can someone point me in the right direction and let me know the best place to post?

Welcome Newf. The friends and family forum is a great place to get advice for your situation. Does your boyfriend recognize he has a problem and willing to get help? He needs to do this himself and his life. You get to benefit from that but if he's not ready to do it for himself it usually doesn't work long term. You should look at Al-anon for face to face support.

Hello there...I'd suggest you also look through this board at the posts problem drinkers write in the Alcoholism and Newcomers boards. It could help you understand better what he's going through. We all seem to share similar experiences.
Maybe you could also direct him to this board. Spending lots and lots of time on this board was one of the biggest things that helped me quit
