sick
Ive noticed everytime i quit smoking ciggarettes an drinking alcohol i often get sick a week after. My nose gets plugged an i get a dry cough an feel like i have a cold.. im on day 8 but feel awlful...
Sorry you aren't feeling well tonib. It's also possible you just don't notice being sick while you are drinking because you are drunk/hungover. Either way, keep up the good work and don't let cold interfere with your sobriety.
Congrats on Day 8. I can relate to your symptoms in terms of quitting smoking, blocked nose, dry cough, etc. but not so much with the drinking.
Sounds like nicotine WD and your body is cleaning itself of all the tars that have accumulated. Hope you continue, and as my EN&T Specialist said "it is the best thing you will have ever done in your life." I didn't tell him about my drinking (it wasn't relevant) but took his point.
I relapsed after a month and so wish I hadn't, but had to put cessation of alcohol first.
Many people are able to accomplish both at the same time but unfortunately I was not one of them. I have one cigarette left and am about to get back on the horse. There is a Quit Smoking Forum here on SR that is very supportive. Wishing you every success.

Kudos to you for quitting both at the same time. I haven't had a drink in 12 days but I'm kinda chain smoking for now. Want to quit that soon too. Hang in there. As others have said, your body is healing itself. You'll feel better soon. Probably better than you have in a very long time.
