Sleeping eight hours again.
That's good as I feel I need it.

Really want sugary food though.
Why is that?

Well today is day 35.
Wow!
When I look back the last day I drank seems like only a few days ago.

Another eight hours sleep.
Never slept so much for as long as I can remember.

Dee - I've been reading about your planning idea and working on it.

In the meantime I have gained an incentive to keep sober.

I am an avid computer gamer and today I loaded up a game I haven't played since December and found myself in a place I don't remember.
I had played drunk and missed out on a large part of the game.
That's dumb.
So keeping sober means better gaming.

Whatever works right?

Just a wee thought about people telling me I am doing well at stopping puts me off.
When people tell me that I won't stick to it, then I strive to prove them wrong

Hmm..that's a big power you're ceding to others. (I do it too) Why is that?

I dunno. Probably just my personality.
I like/need to be pushed.

Is it the same for you?

Yes. Tell me I can't do something I immediately try think of ways to do it. If I'm already doing it I try harder. If someone praises or encourages me I sometimes wonder what I'm doing wrong.

Haha I am similar.

For me however, I have probably too much of an ego. So if someone congratulates me, I think "well it was easy anyway, why are you thanking me"
But tell me I cant and its like F you buddy. I will show you.

Good to meet a kindred spirit lol

A good thing to be aware of. It touches on one reason to not drink that I often remind myself of. Normal human mental maturation is suspended during drinking and continues when sober. When older like myself after years of drinking I've got to learn a lot of things I should have learnt years ago. It doesn't necessarily become easier to learn them. Probably the only advantage I have over a younger me is a better insight, but a lot less time left to grow.

Tell me about it. I'm retirement age myself. When people at meetings advise 'living in the day' I think to myself 'I don't have much choice'! : )

Drinking's only going to make you mad at yourself tomorrow Prinny.

What about doing something else after work? exercise, hobbies, hoisehold chores?

Anything to switch off for a bit and forget the anger.

Well still haven't drank.
Im really dehydrated the last few days so it wouldn't be a good idea anyway.

Feeling very low in mood and alcohol does pick that up but only temporarily so sod that.

What the hell is the corrolation with sobriety and sleep?
I thought sobriety was meant to bring insomnia not masses of sleep

Sleeping was all I could manage the first two months or so. I gave in to it and loved it. When drinking, I never got the sleep I really needed anyway. It's your body healing itself. The energy levels will return.

Offered some wine today, it was red wine which is yucky anyway.
I had a twitch for a few seconds but turned it down.
Quite please about that

Thanks dude.
I think by now all the alcohol is out of my system.
I dare not drink as hangovers are hell.
When always drinking I never got hangovers but I remember them from my past haha oh boy, screw that
