The Ongoing Musings Of Sobriety
Prinnyruler -
If you stick to it, you will definitely find the desire to drink diminishes. Personally, after a short time (maybe a month of hard work in treatment and AA), thinking about drinking started to disgust me. I still feel mildly nauseated at the thought or sight of alcohol. I see people drinking to excess and it makes me feel sad for them, and it just cements my resolve to not go down that road ever again. Alcohol is poison. It is not meant to be in our bodies.
The feeling you are having of a "phantom hangover" is pretty common early on. Your body is still ridding itself of the toxins from drinking. Keep drinking lots of water, eat nourishing foods, try to get some exercise. All of those things will help speed up the detox process.

Day 9 - nightime
Emotions confused. Found myself crying at independence day (the movie)
Extremely dehydrated despite a lot of water.
Clear head for bed is pretty good though, fall asleep rather than pass out

Thanks for your post. Day 8, I was up early and at work being productive. Going home for lunch I had a total emotional burst and a big wave of exhaustion. UGH! Stay strong friend!

Day 10 morning
Another wonderful phantom hangover
I haven't felt this bad in five years drinking lol
Quite a lot of nausea this morning but that may be from eating too much yesterday.
Just bleugh
Also my nose is bright pink, which I am hoping is a bit if sunburn

I have felt like crap and it's been a month. I have had ongoing headaches and body aches. I'm just going to ride it out, I heard it gets better. I do have my good days and bad days just like people that aren't alcoholics. Keep going, I'm right there with you. We can do this. !

Goodness me I am sleepy.
Perhaps six hours genuinely isn't enough for me.
Despite that, after the imaginary hangover diminished, I feel good. Like really good.
I could close my eyes and sleep for days but found myself whistling a tune hahaha

Day 10!! yes yes yes!
Allow yourself to heal, be patient with that process.
You know, we have been literally poisoning our bodies for a long while.
Its gonna take a while to repair the damage.
Im certainly amazed that our human body can repair and bounce back after all that, ya know?
Keep posting, I love seeing your progress and it gives me inspiration to keep moving forward too.
Sleep well, be blessed.

Day 11
Last night something happened. I wont go into details but alcohol was badly wanted to calm nerves.
I didn't though. I was up until some daft hour worrying about it and im tired today but I didn't drink.

I just found this thread, and I really love your musings. Great job getting to Day 11, you will notice with time the desire to drink will continue to lessen, suddenly you will realize you haven't thought about drinking at all one day.
Looking forward to continuing to follow your progress!

Good lord its warm.
Gorgeous sunny day, an hour lunch, pub with garden nearby yet no interest in any alcohol right now.
Not al all.
There's two big tests to come
I have three days off work after today and i'll be home for all three.
The second comes on payday in two weeks today.
I'll have around £100 spare this month and I don't want to spend it on booze

Energy!
Considering I've had about six hours off in the last twelve days I should be flat om my arse.
Took a little motivation but im off out for a three mile walk uphill to start the process of getting rid of all the alcohol bottles I've accumulated since christmas.
