Hi 73Hope.

Welcome to the forum. You'll find a lot of friendly helpful people here. It's been a great support network for me. I hope it helps you as well.

Are you sober now, or working towards that?

BB

Well done.

Dee has a great thread on here about making a plan that's worth a read...

Anyway. Read and post often. Gotta go for now as off to an AA meeting . Catch you later - still sober.

Don't hesitate to get a doctor involved when in the detox phase. I did and he prescribed Naltexone, which is supposed to help.......and I think it does. Day 5 for me and going OK.

Welcome Hope

When did you last have a drink ? Depends how much and how often you have been drinking as to what withdrawal s you will get . If you have drunk fairy heavily or regularly for a long time it is advisable to see the doctor for advice or some medication to help .

Hello 73 Hope!

I was so afraid of joining up I waited more than 30 days after I detoxed. Wish I had started earlier. Good for you

Welcome! Stick close to SR for support. Remember, withdrawal is temporary. It's a drop in the bucket compared to the promise of a lifetime of sobriety.

Great to have you with us, 73hope. It's very helpful to be able to share how we're feeling with friends who understand. You can do it. Be proud of this big decision you've made.

Well now I'm scared as hell to do this without seeing a doctor. Feeling panicked!
