Withdrawal Symptoms!!
Withdrawal symptoms are unfortunately a necessary evil in order to get through to the other side and start your journey of sobriety and then hopefully recovery if you are willing to put the work in.
Do you have a doctor you can discuss different symptoms with to see if there are any medications that may be needed, also so they can monitor your progress and health?
Be easy and kind with yourself, withdrawals can be difficult but they will not last forever.

My symptoms went away about day 3 or 4. My SR friend told me to take it easy and drink chicken broth, which helped immensely. Get plenty of sleep at night, drink tons of water and make sure you eat properly. The first 3 days are the hardest and then it gets SO MUCH easier! Congrats on quitting!

Movies - You used to spend lots of time drinking. Now that time is freed up; while you're resting, watch some movies. Binge-watch The Walking Dead or something. When you're feeling better, you can use this time to "do stuff" that has stayed on the to-do list b/c you were busy drinking all the time.
Comfort food - Eating what you want makes you happy. Or less sad/irritated/whatever. Hunger is also a trigger. If I'm stuffed, I'm happy and even in my most alcoholic day, I can't drink if I'm stuffed.
I'm a big fan of giant slushees/Icees. Some folks on here believe that consuming sugar extends the cravings, however. To me, it satisfies the cravings. Seems like empty calories, but 450 calories of slushee is better than 1200+ calories from light beer!
Some folks suggest exercise etc, which I guess is the best if you're up for that. The first week though, just be as lazy as you want and don't feel a damn bit guilty about it.

Is it possible to take one sick day to give your body a chance to rest? Lots of water for sure, the good thing is the physical symptoms will only last a few days.
Glad you are here, and thanks for being in law enforcement and keeping us safe!!

Give your body what it needs, food, rest, fluids and if a sofa evening sounds good then do it!!
We don't need to take on the world all in one go, there's plenty of time for that later.
Hang in there!!
