I drank

Am not going back to it.
I drank some ncquil when I was really sick a few weeks ago cause I had run out of the kind with no alcohol. I knew I had lost my sobriety from that so when the pressure to drink felt big last weekend, I just went ahead and did it. I learned that I don't wanna be a drinker. I don't want that in my life.

Do you have a recovery plan in place so that you won't be triggered by Nyquil again?

I drank NyQuil the other night to help me fall asleep and I never thought to think about the alcohol in it until I noticed on the label it said alcohol free. I thought well thank god! Never crossed my mind to think about it. I don't think I would have let that be a pass to drink though. Who knows though. Have a great day and stay sober just today. And then we will deal with it again tomorrow

Yeah, Nyquil is a bummer. It really messes with me, too.

Glad you're back and not sliding any further down the slope.

I didn't drink Nyquil but I drank mouthwash. You ever blackout drinking mouthwash? That's not fun. I finally got serious about the program of AA and once I did my life changed! Mind you I was going to AA meetings while drinking so there is a big difference from attending meetings and working with a sponsor and following the steps. Good luck and I hope you find a meeting soon and get a sponsor!

On 7/17 you posted a thread titled "I'm close to drinking". Then today you posted a thread titled "I drank".

Do you think that perhaps starting a formal recovery plan such as AA/AVRT or seeing an alcohol counselor about some kind of rehab might be your next step?

I don't take Nyquil anymore, not because of the alcohol, but because it doesn't work for me. There are so many better medicines out there nowadays.

I'm with Scott. I know I have to have a plan that I'm actively working on, or I just feel my locus of control go out the window, and become external rather than internal.

Maybe he's already in a recovery plan and was just struggling.

Having a plan and failing is a good sign that it either needs tweaking or a complete reworking.
I thought I had a really solid plan until I learned I didn't.
Figuring out your triggers and how to overcome is part of what needs working on. Dust yourself off and keep on trying. You can do this

Even more reason to re-evaluate and add to it if it's not working, right?
